Maya shakti

In the puranas, asuras, daityas etc are mentioned to be in possession of maya shaktis. What are these mayas?How can one get them? Many points also relate these mayas to kundalini.

Pradyumna got these mayas from mayawati.
Maya danava,who is mentioned as a mahayogi,is said to be the teacher of mayavis.(so,yoga is related to maya shaktis?)

Daityas get these mayas from brahma after tapasya.
In this age,how can one get these mayas and which god should be worshiper and in what way?Or which sadhana can be done?

The "Maya Shakti" which you are referring to is actually the power of manifestation through thoughts!

The representation of this power is done in different forms in the ancient Indian scriptures, but if you will look deep down, the basic essence is thought power!

However, there is one another aspect of it also which we today generally calls as "Mesmerism" in which the other person is psyched in such a way that you can make him think and experience that which you want him to experience.

Once again, this is the power of your thoughts. It depends on your influencing power and and the control of other person over his consciousness. If he is at lower levels of consciousness, you can actually influence him in the way you want.


This happens everyday in our life when a person gets impressed by you, your way of thinking, your personality or negotiates on your terms. These all are nothing but the influence and power of your thoughts. In scriptures, it is mentioned in a metaphorical way! :-)

In fact, When a person reaches a higher level of consciousness, his thoughts becomes so powerful that they can be realized in material form itself.
